After my friends picked me up near SM City Cebu, we went straight to the Southern town of Aloguinsan to experience its eco-tourism attraction by way of a sleepy river cruise. The only river cruise I had participated in before was the one in Loboc River in Bohol where local music and great food awaited those on board. Bojo River Cruise was smaller in scale, less grand but more serene for me. For those seeking a more natural respite, this cruise is a definitely laid back alternative compared to the former. You still get to be with nature less but the crowd and noise.
What’s more interesting is that the locals will give guests a background on how the Bojo River Cruise came to life and how it had been an integral part of the local people’s livelihood. Fishing was one of the main sources of income of the locals in this town. But the with the help of the LGU, a cooperative was born helping educate the locals the importance of their town’s fragile ecosystem to the environment. In return, many townspeople now rely in the eco-tourism activity for their source of living.

We also visited an events place called The Farmhouse which was near the vicinity of Bojo River. We were offered native snacks like those shown on the photo below. It was a very relaxing place as greens were all around the buildings and the furniture and kitchenware were either of native or Spanish period inspired.
