Kolkata was the last leg in our two-week India marathon. We arrived early evening on September 29 at Howrah Junction. Again, India surprised us because we felt we were in another country once more.
Once outside, we immediately fell in line at the counter to get our prepaid taxi ticket and asked to be delivered promptly at 7 Royd St. where our guesthouse is located.

Sunflower Guesthouse has a really nice facade. A slim, towering of a structure sandwiched in between commercial establishments, I felt relaxed once I stepped into their old-style elevator, complete with the grilled door and manual control.
The guesthouse is in a very good location. Just walks away from a tuktuk ride and near familiar tourists spots like the New Market, bazaars and shopping areas like the Pantaloon and fine dining places like Pizza Hut and Bar-B-Q Plaza.
After two weeks with no red meat, we were able to have a taste of pork in the latter! We also spent time doing a little shopping at Pantaloon’s. It is a nice strip of a mall about 15-minutes walk from Royd St. I was glad Marx was able to buy that comfy jacket we read about in the airline magazine.
We give our sincere thanks to Sunflower Guesthouse for a perfect stay to cap off our India adventure. We will definitely stay here again.
