After spending two full weeks in the incredible country that is India, Marx and I decided to spend one night in Thailand before finally departing for our home country, the Philippines. Being an employee of the world’s largest hotel chain (InterContinental Hotels Group), gave us the privilege in staying in this posh hotel at a very low price. Marx was ecstatic upon seeing our room with a view. 😉

Since we were locked in India for like an eternity, we were craving for things which tastes similar to home. No longer minding our budget, we ordered, chewed and ate to our heart’s content. We totally enjoyed relaxing in Pattaya that we only visited one spot indicated in our itinerary. We paid the Sanctuary of Truth a much-deserving visit.
As stated in their website: The Sanctuary of Truth is a gigantic wooden construction which covers the area of more than two rais. The top point of the building is about 105 meters high. It was constructed to withstand the wind and sunshine on the seashore at Rachvate Cape, Tumbon Naklea, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri Province.
The building was constructed according to ancient Thai ingenuity and every square inch of the building is covered with wooden carve sculpture. The purposes of decoration with wooden carve sculptures are to use art and culture as the reflection of Ancient Vision of Earth, Ancient Knowledge, and Eastern Philosophy. With in this complex, visitors will understand Ancient Life, Human Responsibility, Basic Thought, Cycle of living, Life Relationship with Universe and Common Goal of Life toward Utopia.
And little did we realize it, we were already on our way back to Manila. Our more than two weeks on the road, a chunk of it spent in India, was an eye-opening experience for me. Truly, the Philippines may not be the richest nor the most advanced country there is, but definitely, we are more blessed in may other ways.
Infinite thanks to the Lord above for this wonderful opportunity.
Wow! I've been to Thailand a few times but only to Hat Yai, Bangkok and Chiang Mai. I have yet to explore Pattaya in the near future. Your photos are enticing! Nice captures of those wood-carved temples.
Sanctuary of Truth was really interesting that I missed the live performance of a traditional folk dance when we visited. Thanks Doc Gelo for the compliments. ^_^
