Thailand seemed to love temples of different hues. After admiring the White Temple, we visited another one which reminded me of the color of the deep blue sea.
I was already having temple aversion by the time we reached the Blue Temple. I was thinking of skipping exploring it and just hang out by the trees outside and people watch. But I thought I would never come back here again soon so might as well take advantage of the opportunity. I told myself to just give it a quick glance so I could immediately go back to musing on other people’s business outside. 😛
It was hard to get a good photo of the temple since hordes of tourist decided that it was a good day to pay it a visit. For the architecture lover, this Buddhist temple will not disappoint because of its vivid color, elaborate carvings and lovely designs. I guess you should research on when is the best time to explore it if crowds aren’t your thing. Entrance is free and you can also enter the temple grounds. Just be mindful and respectful of others. After all, this is still a place of worship.
The Blue Temple is located in Rong Suea Ten in the district of Rimkok which is actually a few kilometers outside Chiang Rai. It is a young temple which recently opened in 2016. I loved the temple’s sapphire blue color for it had this mesmerizing and calming effect. It reminded me of being near the sea as it had the same effect on me. It was still a work in progress compared to the other temples we have visited.
